Woodpark is built on the Merino

Founded in 1863, Woodpark was registered as Mulwala stud, stud number 62 by Alexander Sloane.

The stud was founded on Riverina bloodlines with Wanganella and Wanganella Estate bloodlines the major influences by the early 1900s.

Similarly to the Polls, the Merinos’ development over the past 20 years has worked toward the easy care sheep with the frame and wool type to take advantage of the industry's current rewarding times.

The studs’ breeding aims to balance the easy care nature of the sheep’s exceptional constitution and longevity with a soft, well aligned, well nourished medium wool suited to a wide range of environments.

The flock has a 19.3 micron average and is still run at ‘Woodpark’ on the banks of the Yanko Creek near Jerilderie.
